Social Emotional Learning
Social emotional learning is not simply memorizing and applying social skills in given situations. It is developing the ability to interpret and respond to people (their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors) as you interact within and between situations. Below are highlights of just a few of the important social behaviors addressed through social emotional learning.
|
Perspectives: Understanding others thoughts, feelings, and reactions, and using our knowledge as well as inferencing skills to determine how they might be feeling. |
Self-Regulation: Expected vs unexpected behaviors across situations. Self-regulation also involves filtering possible hurtful reactions or words, and unexpected behaviors. |
